I was just totally clueless — Cher (Alicia Silverstone)

NO ONE likes being the new kid, but everyone remembers being the new kid at least once. It’s inevitable. You’re the shiny new toy. All eyes are on you.
It feels like the end of the world, blah, blah, blah. We’ve all been there, and most of the time — it screams: anxiety.
I remember my first time. I was 10. While I wasn’t moving across the country, or even across the state, I was still moving into a different home that was 15 minutes away. But, for me — it felt like MILES away. In a way, it was like losing a part of myself. My neighborhood. My school. My friends. In the middle of the school year. I was distraught. I was awkward. I didn’t know how to make new friends. Well, not immediately.
After MANY tears on this first day and an endless day of wanting to cover Harry Potter’s Cloak of Invisibility over me to remain invisible … the unexpected happened. My now best friend of over 10+ years took a moment to ask if I was ok, and it changed everything.
So, was being the new kid really THAT bad? Absolutely not— and I’m here to prove it.
Over time, I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. Regardless of what age you are now, I’m hoping these films can provide you with a moment to reflect. To heal. To reminisce over your youth. Or, to ease any anxieties or concerns you may have if you ARE going to be new.
