The Most Eye-Opening LGBTQ Moments on Netflix

It wasn't long ago when LGBTQ representation wasn't a main priority with television shows. As of recently, Netflix has become more inclusive with their content/platform. From tear-jerking moments to utter-heartbreak, Netflix knows how to make a statement with their audience. There is one thing, however, that television shows have now learned to give to people of all ages: inspiration.

If you haven't seen, I have already discussed a few of the best LGBTQ television shows in a previous post. But on this post, we are diving even deeper into some of the most inspirational, eye-opening, and jaw-dropping LGBTQ content yet! You might want to grab a snack and tissues while you're at it -- it is going to be one heck of a ride.

RIVERDALE: SEASON 2 EPISODE 14 "THE HILLS HAVE EYES"

In the town of Riverdale, no one is essentially safe. Supporting character: Cheryl Blossom, a Riverdale Vixen, lets down her defenses. Toni Topaz, girlfriend to Cheryl Blossom (girl and friend … we will leave this to your interpretation for now) tries to get to the bottom of Cheryl's woes. Without hesitation, Cheryl explains all in an eye-opening scene -- not only for herself but for the viewers of the CW original series as well.

RIVERDALE: SEASON 3 EPISODE 12 "BIZZARODALE"

One season later, Cheryl and Toni are back at again -- but not in the way one would think. Earlier in the episode, Cheryl announces that an RROTC member (Moose Mason) is afraid to come out to his fellow classmates. Believing this to create a more open and welcoming atmosphere for him, creates more havoc than it should. This is one of the most jaw-dropping moments of the season. Prepare yourself … it's a shocker.

UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT: SEASON 1 EPISODE 6 "KIMMY GOES TO SCHOOL"

Titus Andromedon, an openly-gay black male tells Kimmy Schimdt (his eccentric-childlike roommate) what it was like to deal with his sexuality in high school. Although this is filmed like a comedy-drama with exaggerated elements, there is no doubt that many others in the LGBTQ community have dealt with a similar situation to Titus.

UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT: LEMONADE MUSIC VIDEO PARODY

If you love Beyoncé's Lemonade Album, then you will most definitely love this parody from Titus Andromedeon. Mikey, his boyfriend whom he feels is not expressing his sexuality or their relationship seriously or openly, is in for an awakening. To get inside the mind of Titus, one cannot simply see him talk it out. In Andromedeon fashion, it's Broadway or no way.

QUEER EYE SEASON 2 TRAILER/BEST MOMENTS

Queer Eye -- I cannot say enough about this show. Although the clip above is a compilation of Season 2, there is just enough to show you a vast array of some of the best moments from the show. While the show is essentially about helping others, it is also a show about reliving one's past and still continuing to cope with living and being gay. While you will definitely need a box of tissues when watching this show, you won't regret it! My favorite episode, you ask? "God Bless Gay". The Fab 5 head to Gay, Georgia. Yes, really. This episode is ALL sorts of fun. Give it a watch and thank me later.

Do you have a favorite moment from one of these shows? Let me know in the comments!

xx Alicia

The Top 3 MCU Movies To Help Awaken Your Inner Superhero

“I look around at us and you know what I see? Losers… I mean like, folks who have lost stuff. And you think life takes more than it gives, but not today. Today it’s giving us something. It is giving us a chance.” – Star-Lord ( Guardians of the Galaxy ) People are not born superheroes, they become one.  It should be no surprise that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has inspired thousands of fans -- young and old alike for its captivating storytelling. From web-slingers to super-soldiers, Marvel Studios has created superheroes that inspire us to become heroes of our own.  Growing up, I didn't really know about superheroes. Sure, I knew Superman and Wonder Woman (which I am well aware is DC Comics) -- but I was a Disney kid at heart. I loved the princesses and the classic storytelling -- specifically movies in the Disney Renaissance Era. Aladdin. Lion King. Beauty and the Beast. These were strong protagonists who became a better version of themselves through selfless

The Top 10 Movies That Promote Teamwork

"Don't you realize? The next time you see the sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here." -- Mikey (The Goonies) TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK Whether you are an introvert, extrovert, or ambivert -- like it or not, teamwork is one aspect within our lives that isn't going anywhere. Teamwork is a term that we all need to better familiarize ourselves with. You might be thinking: "--but, I can do these things on my own. I'm independent. I don't need the help of others". But, you do! We all do! While it may seem exhausting to be apart of a team, it can actually be quite refreshing. Teamwork means collaborating with others who have a different perspective and insight in

Animated Movies To Help You Cope With The Loss of a Loved One

"Know that I'm with you the only way that I can be. Until you're in my arms again. Remember Me" -- Miguel (Coco) Losing someone you care about most deeply is never easy to come to terms with. Even if they aren't gone yet, you have to essentially prepare for the inevitable. While I am not one for being vulnerable with my feelings, it is only fitting with this blog post. I have been close with my grandmother for 20 years. We have never been apart. When I was little, we (meaning my parents and grandparents) moved from Livermore to Stockton. While I have no recollection of this move, I do remember my childhood home. The small single story-home with a two-car garage. The greenery which spanned across the front. Cars occasionally passing by as we overlooked an empty field (which was now the soccer field of  Weston Ranch High). So many memories: good and bad have occurred within that house. Bringing home our first and only St. Bernard puppy. Breaking my arm at
